By far one of the best books I’ve read on sustainability. The book is long and Norton can certainly fertile and well on my head at times, but the message is solid. Adaptive management has set additional aspects of the progressive rejection of economic reductionism, while promoting a process-oriented measures does not allow people to hide behind to avoid the uncertainty, difficult decisions. If a person believes that there are environmental problems, and will not embroiled in the arguments of the polarized environment in relation to the economy, read, take this book. Some of the main topics discussed in this book environnementalesNorton: * The relationship between science and social values * pragmatism and a “middle way” * Darwinism and evolution * Adaptive management and social learning * pluralism * Create a new vocabulary for sustainability issues argues that our language is insufficient because it leads to a polarization today on environmental values and ideology of the environmental movement. “Instead of Norton provides management adapter and uses the length of the book in the background and concepts around the implementation of this concept to discuss. As for me consists of adaptive management is that both the uncertainty and learning (changing) address searches, two properties , which logically is crucial seem to questions of today. I will digest a long time quite the amount of information in this book, but it was worth it to read and I recommend it to anyone that is a better understanding of what “Sustainability will be” – or, more importantly, could be.
