This book is very dry, but a necessary evil for a course I am taking. If they condensed the content down to the key elements and the charts, you could get by with about 1/2 the total page length.

This book stopped me from avoiding my PhD supervisor by the end of my first year. A guided text starting at the front end of a research project and moving gently through each stage – using simple language. As the title states this book, is a step-by step guide. For those of us starting on the road to research – even if it’s a short lived journey to completing honours, masters or a PhD project – this book will be used and is worth the fee. A great step by step book for beginning researchers.
