He was pretty clear to me, zavindur. 4 clients gets you about 66 grand a year if you do it right. Good luck with your $35/hr. gig.

    Good info Perry.

If your maintenance plan doesn’t do anything for the client, then they shouldn’t pay (and you won’t be very successful).

If your maintenance plan helps them prevent problems, clients will gladly pay for the service.

They need to pay for support one way or the other. Either they can pay someone by the hour to fix problems when they pop up… or they can be more efficient by paying a smart consultant to monitor the systems and prevent the problems from happening in the first place.

This still doesnt address the issue of not enough clients- it just plays a number game of IF you have clients that will be on a maint plan then of course you’ll be okay. The majority of clients and other professionals tell me that they dont like/do maint plans- they’re not dumb, they wont pay you for potentially doing nothing.

Great info. I can’t charge those kind of rates in my area, but even at half of what you charge, I can make a better living than I am now. I’m definitely going to try to switch my customers to a maint. plan.

    Good video. Thanks.
